Never played poker before? Don't worry! Here is everything you need to know in simple, easy steps designed so anyone can master the table in minutes.
Texas Hold'em is the world's most popular card game. Think of it like a game of strategy where math meets psychology. Every player at the table tries to create the best 5-card combination possible using two sets of cards:
Your goal is simple: win the virtual Velo chips in the center pot! You win by either having the highest-ranked 5-card hand at the end (Showdown) or by betting smart so everyone else folds before then.
To win, you need to know which hands beat which. Here is the official ranking order:
A, K, Q, J, 10 all in the same suit (e.g. all Spades ♠). The ultimate hand!
Five cards in numerical order, all sharing the same suit (e.g. 5-6-7-8-9 of Hearts ♥).
Four cards of the exact same rank (e.g. four Kings: K-K-K-K).
Three of a kind combined with a pair (e.g. 8-8-8 with Q-Q).
Any five cards of the same suit in any order (e.g. 5 cards all Diamonds ♦).
Five cards in sequential order of different suits (e.g. 4-5-6-7-8).
Three cards of the exact same rank (e.g. 10-10-10).
Two separate pairs of matching ranks (e.g. J-J and 4-4).
One matching pair (e.g. A-A) or simply your highest single card (Ace is highest).
Every hand moves through four distinct betting stages:
Two hole cards are dealt secretly to every player. Small and Big Blinds are placed automatically, and initial bets begin.
The dealer flips 3 community cards face-up in the middle. Players evaluate their progress and place bets.
A 4th community card is revealed. Strategy deepens as players re-calculate their chances to make a winning hand.
The 5th and final community card is revealed. Final bets are made, followed by Showdown where cards are revealed!
When it is your turn in the game, you can choose from these options depending on the current bet required:
Start with strong cards: Pairs like A-A, K-K, or Q-Q, and high rank cards like A-K are high winning starting hands.
Patience is key: You don't have to play every hand. Folding weak starting hands saves your Velo balance!
Watch your opponents: Observe how bot opponents like Bluff Queen and Cyber Shark bet to predict their hand strength.
All card deals are generated using a randomized mathematical card shuffler. Velo tokens have no monetary value outside this game environment.
